One of the world’s most popular cocktails, the mojito is a simple mixed drink typically made of rum, mint, lime, sugar, and club soda. Here, we remove the alcohol while keeping the cool, herbal flavor of the original.
Ingredients:
- 10 fresh mint leaves
- 1 oz fresh lime juice
- 1 oz simple syrup (recipe below)
- 2 oz club soda
- Ice cubes
Instructions:
Muddle the mint leaves in the bottom of a glass. Add the lime juice and simple syrup and stir to combine. Fill the glass with ice and top with club soda. Stir gently and serve.
This non-alcoholic mojito has a bright, refreshing flavor with a touch of sweetness from the simple syrup. The lime juice provides a tangy, citrus flavor, the simple syrup contributes a sweet, neutral flavor, and the club soda provides a light, crisp quality. The fresh mint leaves add a cool, herbal flavor and aroma, and muddling them in the bottom of the glass releases their essential oils enhancing their flavor.
